Tropical Storm Alex Headed for South Texas, Could Affect Clean Up
However, meteorologist Shawn O'Neal with the National Weather Service in Slidell, LA said, "There is a pretty good amount of shower and thunderstorm activity developing over the coastal waters, including very near the oil spill sight that's definitely going to be a factor."
Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen said that they would relocate clean up vessels when gale force winds are predicted at 120 hours from the clean up site.

Tropical Storm Alex is expected to become a hurricane tomorrow. A hurricane watch has been issued for the coasts of south Texas and northeastern Mexico. It is not expected to cross over oiled waters in the Gulf of Mexico. However, meteorologist Shawn O'Neal with the National Weather Service in Slidell, LA said, "There is a pretty good amount of shower and thunderstorm activity developing over the coastal waters, including very near the oil spill sight that's definitely going to be a factor."
