(2008-09-23)
(wrkf) - Two French officials are visiting Louisiana this week.

French Minister of Education Xavier Darcos and French Ambassador Pierre Vimont will be in New Orleans on Wednesday and in Baton Rouge on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Darcos will visit the French-American Audubon Charter School in New Orleans. And he will learn more about how New Orleans schools are recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

Thursday's activities include a signing ceremony at the Governor's Mansion. The French officials will join Louisiana officials in signing the Louisiana-French Accords aimed at promoting Louisiana's educational, cultural and linguistic ties.
