22,000 get duplicate food stamp benefits BATON ROUGE, LA. (AP) (wrkf) - About 22,000 people who received emergency food stamps in Louisiana received duplicate benefits by mistake.

The state Department of Social Services says in one case, a woman who was supposed to get $300 in benefits actually received $600.

The department on Tuesday said a computer program error caused the problem, which has been corrected and the system was revised to prevent similar mistakes.
