Calcasieu declared Gustav "major disaster" area BATON ROUGE, LA. (AP) (wrkf) - Residents of Calcasieu Parish are now eligible for financial help because of Hurricane Gustav.

Governor Bobby Jindal announced Thursday that the parish has been added to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's so-called "major disaster" list.

The designation means eligible Calcasieu residents can get money from the government for home repairs and to pay for temporary housing.
