Storm seminars set NEW ORLEANS (AP) (wrkf) - With hurricane season in full swing, the University of New Orleans is hosting a series of seminars designed to help residents guard their homes against storms.

The first seminar, focused on protecting doors and windows, is set for Thursday. Subsequent seminars, on other techniques, will be held the following three Thursdays.

The seminars are part of a cooperative clearinghouse run as a "rebuilding information station" geared toward helping residents recover from Hurricane Katrina, which struck the Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005. © Copyright 2009, wrkf
