I-10 closed in the Atchafalaya basin HENDERSON, LA. (AP) (wrkf) - State police have closed a portion of Interstate 10 eastbound and westbound in the Atchafalaya basin following a wreck involving an 18-wheeler carrying a hazardous material.

The highway is closed between Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

The accident happened about 4 a.m Thursday near mile marker 125. That's about 22 miles east of Interstate 49.
