PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 232
Lost in Translation

Today's Geo Quiz may sound a bit like gibberish. Anyone who travels around the world is sure to encounter foreign languages... It's easy to pick up a few phrases or local expressions. We're got a couple of great examples as clues today. There's poronkusema - which means the distance equal to how far a reindeer can travel... without a comfort break. And there's hanyauku - rukwangali, which translates as "walking on tiptoes across warm sand." We want you to match the phrases to the country where you might hear them.

The World's Geo Quiz tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe. The World is a US-based international news and analysis program co-produced by the BBC World Service, Public Radio International, and WGBH Boston.
