Libertarians Select Candidate
Chicago Public Radio's Tony Arnold has a look at what some Libertarians in Chicago are doing to support their newly crowned presidential nominee.
Libertarians wrapped up their convention yesterday (Monday).
And now people like Chris Lakumb have a lot of work to do.
Lakumb is the treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Chicago.
He says volunteers are more active than ever.
LAKUMB: You talk to people on the street and I think they're much more open to the idea of a third party and an alternative than they were last year, four years ago, as long as I've been involved. So, I think we're very pleased with that, but there's a lot more hard work to be done going forward.
Lakumb says in Illinois - one of the top priorities is making sure Bob Barr's name appears on the state ballot come November.
But to do that - Libertarians need several thousand more petition signatures than Democrats or Republicans.
