Jury in Rezko Trial Begins Deliberations
The first question was from a juror who asked the judge if the jury could be excused early next Thursday so that she could make it to her grandson's 8th grade graduation.
Judge Amy St. Eve said that would fine. The question is perhaps an indication that jurors are settling in for the long haul.
The second question was more serious. The jurors asked for a transcript of the testimony of one of the witnesses.
Judges can decide if they want to allow that or not.
The judge sent a note back saying no, and in an effort to prevent similar requests in the future, St. Eve wrote that for all the witnesses, jurors are to rely on their collective recollection of the testimony.
