Congressman Says Bill to Help Ex-Cons Should Pass
Davis says more needs to be done for ex-offenders.

The bill was approved by the House last week and is currently under review by the Senate Judiciary Committee. A spokesperson for the committee says the bill is not currently scheduled for a vote.

Illinois U-S Representative Danny Davis says he's optimistic a bill to help ex-offenders will become law. The Second Chance Act of 2007 would provide over 300 million dollars for re-entry programs focusing on drug treatment, job training and mentoring.Davis says more needs to be done for ex-offenders.
