IOC Prez Visits Chicago
Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee spoke to the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council of Global Affairs.
The I-O-C is expected to pick a host city in the fall of 2009.
Rogge says Mayor Richard Daley has run a strong campaign on behalf of Chicago's bid.
"Mr. Mayor to judge by your eloquence you don't have to train anymore unlike the athletes. You are ready for the 4th of October 2-0-0-9."
Rogge (says the I-O-C is looking for a host city that can sustain improvements after the games are over.
He says the I-O-C will produce an 'Olympic Games Impact' study that identifies social, economic and environmental criteria for host cities.
