Boxing Championship Could Preview Olympics CHICAGO, IL (wqub) - The amateur world boxing championship wrapped up Saturday in Chicago.
Mayor Richard Daley says the event showcased the city's ability to host the 20-16 Summer Olympics.

"It just brought out the best. You saw the volunteers. You saw government working together, the business community, the great pride we had and the great history of boxing not only here in Chicago and the United States of America but throughout the world."

The International Olympic Committee's president was in Chicago for the final bouts in the world boxing championship.
The I-O-C is expected to pick the host city for the 20-16 games in October of 2009.
