QU Hawks Win Late

(wqub) - The Quincy University men's soccer team picked a 1-0 win over regional foe Truman State University at home on Wednesday. Jayme Groark scored the game's lone goal with just over one-minute left in the game, sending the Hawks home winners on 2007 senior night.

Kyle Dillman made three saves in recording his third shutout of the season. Prior to the game the Hawks honored their lone senior, Brad Niemann (Quincy, Ill./Quincy Notre Dame). The Hawks improve to 11-3-1 overall and return to action on the road October 14 in a GLVC match-up against SIU Edwardsville. Game time is set for
3:30 p.m.

(Quincy, Ill.) The Quincy University men's basketball team has been picked fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division in the
2007-08 GLVC men's basketball preseason coaches poll. The Hawks received a total of 20 points.

Quincy finished the 2006-07 season with a 20-10 overall record and a 12-7 record in the GLVC. They are coming off a school record third
consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Hawks tip-off against the University of Illinois on October 31 in an exhibition game. They open
the regular season on November 20 against Hannibal-LaGrange College at home at 7:30 p.m.
