Planned Parenthood Clinic Opens Despite Protests
Dozens of protestors chatted quietly, and waved signs that read things like Stop Abortion Now.
Aurora resident Wanda Geist was among the protestors.
"We will do everything that we can, peacefully, to prevent any babies from being killed here. We will stand on the sidewalk, we will talk to the women, we will try to give them real choice."
But Steve Trombley, who heads Planned Parenthood in the Chicago area, says he's confident the clinic will remain open.
"Planned Parenthood has a 90-year history of opening up medical facilities, and in that 90 years, we've fought many, many, many battles to get our facilities open. And so this is just one more battle, and we're happy it's over, and that we're open for business."
There are still lawsuits pending.
