Planned Parenthood Clinic Opening Delayed
(2007-10-01)
(wqub) - Activists on both sides of the abortion debate are anticipating a major development in west Suburban Aurora this week. Shawn Allee reports.

Can Planned Parenthood's new clinic in Aurora open its doors soon? Well, the city's getting closer to providing an answer. The clinic was slated to open September 18, but aldermen worried Planned Parenthood lied on its permit applications.
Aurora spokesperson Carie Anne Ergo

ERGO: The city council and the mayor felt that it was important to really do an entire review of the development process to make sure that Aurora 's local laws were followed in the development of this facility.

Kane County's state's attorney has been conducting the review, which could be done today. Aurora's city council could then rule whether the clinic should get a permanent permit. Planned Parenthood admits to using a front company to develop the site, but says it followed local laws to get approval.
