Works include Haydn’s D Major Violoncello Concerto, performed by soloist Ashley Sandor Sidon (the Briggs Endowed Professor of Cello at Drake University); the Florida premiere of Song of the Phoenix, composed by FAU’s new Assistant Professor of Music and Composer-in-Residence, Kevin Wilt; and Rossini’s Overture from William Tell. The FAU Symphony Orchestra has been selected to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association State Conference in Tampa in January 2014. Sneak previews of the FMEA concert will be presented at this concert, which includes the finale of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. Tickets $10 at www.fauevents.com.
