Beethoven's Fateful Beginning Roy Goodman
Hope for the best at the beginning of Beethoven's 5th It's the most famous, and at the same time the most treacherous beginning in classical music. Much has been written about the first four notes of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.

Conductor Roy Goodman wonders what those four notes mean -- but the bigger challenge is just simply getting started.
