Wyomingites Visiting Doctors Less
(2008-09-19)
(wpr) - Wyoming women are less likely than men to see a doctor because of cost concerns, according to the Wyoming Department of Health.

Ashley Busaker of the Wyoming Department of Health's Maternal and Family Health Division says cost concerns drove 12 percent of the state's population away from the doctor within the last year.

She says nearly 15 percent of all women bypassed care, compared to 9.8 percent of all men.

Health care officials discussed the numbers this week during the Wyoming Public Health Association conference held in Casper.
