Governor praises Pinedale plan protections
Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal says it contains more specific protections than previous plans.
Freudenthal points out that this time the BLM put specific pollution control technology in the plan.
"And that degree of specificity that gives both the state a vehicle to talk about implementation if it doesn't occur, but it also gives the interested groups on the outside, they are in the position, if it doesn't occur, to raise an objection and force it's compliance," he says.
The plan allows for oil and gas drilling in a core area while prohibiting drilling in other areas.
