Wyoming people could benefit from takeover
"It should stabilize the financial markets broadly, and especially the mortgage markets, it should have the effect over the next few month of keeping mortgage rates from going as high as they might otherwise. It should make investors somewhat less nervous."

A University of Wyoming economist says people in this state will generally benefit from the federal takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Sherrill Shaffer says the only people in the state who have reason to be worried are those who have stock in the two mortgage giants. "It should stabilize the financial markets broadly, and especially the mortgage markets, it should have the effect over the next few month of keeping mortgage rates from going as high as they might otherwise. It should make investors somewhat less nervous."
