Wyoming has an extra $125 million in revenue
"The last 2 or 3 months the revenues coming in month by month are looking a little bit better. We still have about 2 months of numbers that we have not counted yet and I would expect they will be a little bit better as we finish out the fiscal year."
But Robinson adds that income has exceeded expectations in part because projections by the consensus revenue estimating group were conservative.

Wyoming has gotten some good news. Unanticipated revenue from oil and gas lease auctions combined with higher than expected severance tax income and increased investment income means that state had 125 million dollars more than projected in June. If the trend continued through the end of that month, the money can be used to help fund programs in the new fiscal year which started July first. State economist Jim Robinson says while this increase is good news sales tax income is actually about 18 million dollars below projected levels. But he says that is starting to improve, "The last 2 or 3 months the revenues coming in month by month are looking a little bit better. We still have about 2 months of numbers that we have not counted yet and I would expect they will be a little bit better as we finish out the fiscal year."
But Robinson adds that income has exceeded expectations in part because projections by the consensus revenue estimating group were conservative.
