Library at UW officially reopens
(2009-11-19)
(wpr) - The University of Wyoming today (Thursday) formally dedicated the newly-expanded and renovated W.R. Coe Library. The legislature contributed nearly 50 million dollars to the renovation, and dignitaries today (Thursday) praised the facility for its modern design. State Senator Hank Coe takes special pride since the building is named for his grandfather. He calls it an amazing facility that would make his grandfather proud, "He would be absolutely astounded by it, I am absolutely astounded by it and my Mother Peg Coe would be overwhelmed by it. My God, it's incredible. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen at the University of Wyoming."
Coe is equally impressed that the library appears to be a gathering place for students. Governor Dave Freudenthal says that despite its modern design, the building still serves the important function of educating students.
