Frontier Days strong this year
Darren Rudloff heads Visit Cheyenne, a tourism organization for Laramie County. He says Frontier Days usually generates about 25 million dollars in traveler spending - nearly a tenth of the county's tourism dollars for the year. And if this year is anything like years past, this weekend will be strong. "The last weekend is always a big weekend. You know, the rodeo finals take place. Alan Jackson will have his concert which will prove to be a really big one as well. So, we expect the positive numbers to continue this weekend because it's both the finals and a really big concert tomorrow night."
Cheyenne Frontier Days bills itself as the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration. The 10-day event wraps up on Sunday.
