Cause of Frontier Refinery fire still unknown LARAMIE, WYO. (wpr) - There was a fire at Cheyenne's Frontier Refinery this morning. The blaze was in a single unit of the refinery and it was put out within about an hour.

Frontier spokesman Mel Wilkenfeld says no one was hurt during the fire, and the event does not seem to have had an effect on local air quality. "We did do air monitoring both during and after the fire to make sure there were no concerns with that and we found no impacts, everything that was measured was within standards."

Wilkenfeld says they have shut down the unit where the fire occurred and he's not yet sure when it will be up and running again. This is the second fire at Frontier in the last decade. The other fire was in a different unit of the refinery.
