In sports, the Cowboys' basketball team must win Wednesday to keep its season alive. The Pokes play against the Air Force Academy in the first game of the Mountain West Conference Tournament. UW has had a rough season, with two key players leaving the program and others battling injuries. Head coach Heath Schroyer says all of that has given his young players valuable experience: "We got really good kids in the program, so it's made it pretty easy that way and I'm really proud of them. So many of these guys have gotten better because they've been thrown into the fire." If the Cowboys lose this game, they will finish the season with ten wins, the fewest for the program since 1975-76. The game starts at three o'clock on Wednesday.
