Computer glitch delays PAWS tests
(2010-03-08)
(wpr) - The Wyoming Department of Education has not solved a computer glitch that has delayed the start of annual standardized testing at some Wyoming schools this week.

Department spokesman Tim Lockwood said Monday that NCS Pearson had made progress in identifying the problem but had not yet provided a solution.

NCS Pearson has the state contract to administer the Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students. Lockwood says Pearson employees deployed to Wyoming to work on the problem.

The state announced Friday that a computer problem was preventing some districts from completing the online portion of a PAWS practice test.

Lockwood says some districts have delayed the start of PAWS testing because of the problem. He did not have information on which districts delayed testing.
