Shoshone NF Revising Forest Plan
(2005-04-22)
(wpr) - The nation's first national forest is in the process of revising its Forest Plan. The Shoshone Forest will be holding five public meetings next month to discuss the revision. Forest Planner Bryan Armel says some areas of focus will be wildlife management, timbering, grazing, and management of wilderness and roadless areas. Armel says it's possible that new wilderness areas could be recommended in this process. Armel says they could suggest creation of a wilderness area, but Congress would have to make the designation. A couple areas that have been considered for wilderness in the past are the DuNoir and High Lakes areas. The first public meeting on the Shoshone Forest Plan revision will be May 17th in Dubois. © Copyright 2012, wpr
