Wyoming teen death and birth rates increase LARAMIE, WY (wpr) - The rate at which Wyoming's teenagers are dying and giving birth have worsened although more teens are going to school and graduating from high school.
The Kids Count report produced through the Annie E. Casey Foundation says Wyoming's death rate among 15 to 19 year olds was 86 per 100,000 in 2007. That ranks the state 43rd in the nation. In 2000, the state rate was 81 per 100,000.
As for teen birth rate, the report said Wyoming recorded 51 per
1,000 females aged 15 to 19. It was 42 per 1,000 in 2000.
However, the number of teens age 16 to 19 not attending school
and not graduating from high school dropped to six percent in 2008.
In 2000, the rate was 10 percent.
