Air Guard cancels air show
Guard officials say they're busy with too many other things, including deployments, inspections and construction. There's also a lack of funding.
Past shows included displays of modern transport planes and helicopters. Parachuting demonstrations and stunt planes also could be seen at the base in Cheyenne.
Col. Dennis Grunstad, 153rd Airlift Wing commander, says canceling the show was a tough decision but the Guard wouldn't have been able to provide the top-notch air show the Cheyenne community deserves.
The cancellation won't affect the annual air show by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, which is still set for next Wednesday.
