Rita Meyer looks for future energy diversification
"I think we are going to be a player on all those things. From wind, to solar, to geothermal. To all the legacy resources. Yes, they will pale in comparison with the fossil fuels. But I think we work to do the research development and technology to build them out as part of that entire portfolio."
Colin Simpson and Matt Mead also see opportunities for the state in renewable energy to go with new opportunities in oil. Ron Micheli stresses that Wyoming also needs to do more with the energy it produces by developing more so called value-added jobs that are created using energy the state produces.

Most Republican candidates for governor say that for the foreseeable future, Wyoming will remain an energy producing state. They say the key is to diversify the types of things the state is involved in. Rita Meyer is a strong proponent of getting further into the uranium industry, but she won't stop there "I think we are going to be a player on all those things. From wind, to solar, to geothermal. To all the legacy resources. Yes, they will pale in comparison with the fossil fuels. But I think we work to do the research development and technology to build them out as part of that entire portfolio."
