Dept. of Health won't take rodeo tickets LARAMIE, WY (wpr) - The Wyoming Department of Health has decided not to accept concert and rodeo tickets as part of its sponsorship of Cheyenne Frontier Days.
The Health Department's Wednesday announcement follows its decision last month to scrap a plan to distribute 90 concert tickets to agency staffers.
The department dropped the plan after Gov. Dave Freudenthal criticized the idea of handing out tickets to department employees.
A department spokeswoman says the tickets were part of its $45,500 sponsorship contract with the rodeo to promote the state's anti-tobacco campaign. More than half the money comes from tobacco industry settlement funds earmarked for health care and tobacco control.
