BLM changes course on Adobe Town
"I think what you are seeing here is a recognition by this administration that you don't have drill everywhere. That we can get the oil and gas we need outside of wilderness quality lands."
A B-L-M spokesman says that they want more time to look into the implications of drilling on the 15 parcels that they are deferring, but they could be sold at a later date.

The Bureau of Land Management is deferring the auction of 15 oil and gas leases in the Adobe Town area of Southwest Wyoming. The decision comes on the heels of a protest of the lease sale by a number of conservation groups. Sharon Buccino of the Natural Resources Defense Council says this is a sign that things are changing in Washington."I think what you are seeing here is a recognition by this administration that you don't have drill everywhere. That we can get the oil and gas we need outside of wilderness quality lands."
