Visits to Grand Teton are up
(2009-09-07)
(wpr) - The number of visitors to Grand Teton National Park was up nearly 8 percent in August compared to the same month last year.
Jackie Skaggs is spokeswoman for Grand Teton. She says 568,000 people entered the park last month, up from 527,000 visitors for the same month last year.
The number of visitors to the park in July was also up 6 percent over last year.
Skaggs says the increase in visitors is encouraging and shows that northwestern Wyoming is still a big draw for tourists despite the nation's economic problems.
