National Mining President says Industry must fight climate legislation
capture technology. Association President Hal Quinn said Thursday at the Wyoming
Mining Association that the climate bill in Congress is losing support.
He says moderate Democrats are finding it politically hard to
vote for legislation that opponents say would boost consumers'
energy bills.
Congress is considering a bill that would impose the first-ever
limits on greenhouse gases blamed for global warming. Coal-burning
power plants are one of the sources of such gases.
Quinn says investing in technology to capture and store
underground carbon emissions is the best and most reasonable answer
to climate change.
