BLM Will Release Its Pinedale Plan Friday
(2008-08-21)
(wpr) - The Bureau of Land Management will release its Pinedale Resource Management Plan tomorrow (Friday). The plan says how a million acres of federal land will be used over the next 15 to 20 years.

The latest draft of the plan allowed up to 44-hundred new natural gas wells to be drilled in the area. Conservation groups protested that number, saying it would cause too much environmental damage. They say they'll be watching carefully to see how many wells the final plan allows.

Tomorrow's release will kick off a 30-day protest period. That gives people who participated in the planning process the opportunity to protest the final plan.
