Tour of Medicine Lodge Creek Archaeological Site

August 23, 10:30AM-2:00PM; (Tour leaves Meeteetse Museums at 8:30 sharp. Arrive early. Tour begins at Medicine Lodge Creek at 10:30. Participants may meet main group on site if more convenient.)

Meeteetse Museum hosts this tour of Medicine Lodge Creek State Archaeological Site on Saturday, August 23. Medicine Lodge Creek Archaeological Site is located on Hwy 31, six miles northeast of Hyattville. Medicine Lodge is the location of some of Basin's earliest human habitation and most important prehistoric petroglyphs and pictographs. The tour will be led by archaeologist Dr. Lawrence Todd. Participants leave Meeteetse Museums at 8:30. The tour begins at 10:30 on site.
Participants may later continue the tour with Dr. Todd, stopping near the Colby Mammoth Kill Site and concluding at the Washakie Museum at Worland. Note that the Washakie Museum does charge a fee of $6 per person. Participants are asked to bring a picnic lunch.
