How did the dinosaurs and mammals of the Morrison Formation fit into their Jurassic world ?The Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation is one of the most well-studied rock units in the world. It crops out across western North America, and it has yielded a great variety of dinosaurs and other fossils including early mammals. Because of these fossils, the Morrison Formation has been the subject of intense scrutiny since the late 1800’s.
Kelli Trujillo is a paleontologist and geologist who lives in Laramie, WY. She earned her B.A from Western State College of Colorado, and her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming. She currently is the manager of the University of Wyoming Geological Museum, and also works as a mitigation paleontologist for Uinta Paleontological Associates. Her main area of
research is the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation of the western interior,
focusing on the age and correlations across the depositional area.
