UPDATE: Nelsonville new police chief NELSONVILLE, OH (WOUB) - We have a correction about a story reported last night.

We had said Nelsonville had chosen David Valkinburg as the new police chief.

That information was inaccurate.

Nelsonville City Councilman Chris Smith says Lieutenant Jason Wallace of the Logan Police Department has been hired as the city's new police chief.

Smith says Valkinburg withdrew from the pool of candidates.

He says Wallace currently lives in Logan.
