OU hiring freeze
(2008-09-24)
(WOUB) - Effective immediately, Ohio University is imposing a hiring freeze.

President Roderick McDavis says it's needed because the economic situation at the state and federal level has "intensified."

He calls the freeze "the most responsible step we can take at this time" and one that will allow OU to "preserve funds" in case they're needed to deal with state budget cuts or other bad economic news.

It does not affect faculty searches that are already in progress.
