Unemployment in Ohio
State officials released county and city numbers Tuesday. On Friday, they reported that last month's statewide jobless rate was 7.4 percent, a 16-year high.
Unemployment was lowest in Delaware County north of Columbus and in Holmes County, the heart of Ohio's Amish country. Both reported a 5.2 rate for August.
Among the state's largest cities, joblessness was highest in Youngstown, at an even 10 percent. Mentor, east of Cleveland, had the lowest city rate: 5.9 percent. © Copyright 2009, WOUB
