Athens trash collection ATHENS, OH (WOUB) - The main street through the downtown area of Athens is a busy place and often a trashy one.

The aptly named Clean Committee has come up with a recommendation to help fix the problem.

It's a plan that has the support of Josh Thomas, the chairman of the Uptown Business Association.

The proposal is to stop curbside collection of trash and recycling from Court and other streets in the downtown area.

Centralized collection areas would be established and residents and businesses would use those instead.
