Ohio judge sentences man for shooting
stole a bale of straw.
Thirty-six-year-old Eric Whisman apologized in Scioto County Common Pleas Court yesterday, but that didn'tsatisfy the father of 17-year-old Nathaniel Kennedy. Roger Kennedy said after the hearing in Portsmouth that the citizens did not see justice done.
Whisman worked as a caretaker at a shooting club. According tohis lawyer, he meant to fire warning shots and didn't intend to hurt anyone when he saw Nathaniel Kennedy and another teen load the bale into a pickup truck on Oct. 14. The straw was worth less than
