Athens County Tourism ATHENS, OH (WOUB) - New numbers are out on tourism in Athens County and they show visitors generated business sales of 119-million dollars in 2007.

A report delivered yesterday by Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Paige Alost says "Tourism is an integral and driving component of the Athens County economy, sustaining 10-point-five percent of all jobs."

That would include jobs in recreation, retail and lodging.

The report says the number of jobs is nearly two-thousand....and the wages paid were 32-million dollars. © Copyright 2009, WOUB
