Fast-Trac Program
(2008-09-09)
(WOUB) - Despite passion, drive and an abundance of good ideas, half of all new business owners fail within the first few years.

That's often because they lack the experience and tools required for starting and running a business.

Ohio University now has a program to help entrepreneurs learn to manage and grow successful businesses.

It's called Fast-Trac, a program which brings business owners and entrepreneurs together to help them understand and learn the facets of business.

Paul Kinghorn is with the Voinovich School at OU.

He says Fast-Trac provides assistance by evaluating a business and suggesting changes to improve performance.

Kinghorn says Fast-Trac can help businesses with little support structures as far as management, experience and education levels can benefit from by giving them the skills they need to compete.

The program, which cost 150 dollars, will be offered from September 18th through December 4th at Washington State Community College in Marietta.
