Jackson Business Loan
(WOUB) - The state Controlling Board has just approved a one million dollar loan for Ohio Basic Minerals and in Liberty Township in Jackson County.

The money is for the purchase of machinery and equipment.

The Ohio Department of Development says the sand and gravel company is planning a multi-million dollar expansion that would add 30 jobs.

Ohio Basic Minerals is apparently going to increase its operations with a new sand dryer and a silica plant and the state is offering the loan as another incentive for that to happen in Jackson County.

Republican State Senator John Carey says the expansion would not only bring new jobs, but the increased availability of sand would also attract more businesses to the area.
