Community funding for Appalachia
(2008-09-09)
(WOUB) - Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher has just announced the availability of $300,000 for a new program that benefits Southeast Ohio.

The Community Facility Initiative will be run by the Governor's Office of Appalachia.

The initiative is designed to invest in public facilities in all Appalachian counties.

The idea is to improve, upgrade, repair, or enhance the buildings so they can be safe and ready to use by the community.

Requests for funding may begin at $15,000 and go up to $30,000 per project.
