Commission requests information from Federal Hocking School District
(2008-09-05)
(WOUB) - Federal Hocking School District officials are being asked to provide additional contract and personnel records to a state oversight group.

And the Federal Hocking School Board has been told Superintendent Jim Patsey will not resign.

The request for information comes from the Financial Planning and Supervision Commission which wants documents from Superintendent Patsey and Treasurer Bruce Steenrod.

Among the requested items - copies of terminations letters to several former employees and copies of some employee grievances.

It's all supposed to be given to the Commission by Monday.

This comes a few days after Commission members met with Patsey in a meeting not open to the public.

On the same day of the request, Tuesday, the Fed Hock Board got a letter from Patsey's attorney who claimed the board, quote, "recently engaged in actions which undermined his authority, disrespected him and subjected him to public ridicule and scorn."

Attorney Dennis Pergram was referring to an August 19th meeting in which the board overruled Patsey in the case of a disgruntled football coach.

Pergram says Patsey "will not resign" and will "vigorously" fight any attempt to fire him.

W-O-U-B News tried to get comment from Pergram, Patsey and the Commission's chair but was unable to make contact with any of them.
