Trade ruling good for area company
(2008-09-03)
(WOUB) - A Southeast Ohio company says it's pleased with an International Trade Commission decision in an anti-dumping case on magnets like you might have on your refrigerator.

Magnum Magnetics Corporation of Marietta and Caldwell had petitioned the Commission to uphold duty taxes on raw flexible magnets imported from China and Taiwan.

Magnum said the magnets were being subsidized and sold at costs less than fair value....and the Trade Commission recently agreed.

That keeps the duties in place.

Magnum says the ruling will level the playing field for it and other companies in the U.S. magnetics industry.
