Fatal motorcycle accident kills two
(WOUB) - An eastern Kentucky police officer and his
wife were killed in a motorcycle accident in eastern Ohio.

Ashland Police Sgt. Charles "Chuck" Leadingham and Denise Leadingham died when their motorcycle crashed on Interstate 77 near Marietta, Ohio on Saturday.

The 44-year-old Leadingham was a 20-year veteran of the police department. The 42-year-old Denise Leadingham was an employee of the Federal Correctional Institute in Summit, Ohio.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd McDonald told The Daily Independent in Ashland that the accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. when they lost control and crashed.

McDonald said the rear tire of the motorcycle appeared to have blown out. He said the motorcycle slid off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, ejecting the couple from the
