More jobs possible for Washington Co.
(2008-08-26)
(WOUB) - A company that makes silicon is looking at Washington County for a $56 million project.

If it moves ahead, Solsil Incorporated would expand its Waterford Township plant and create 350 jobs.

The state is offering Solsil a tax credit of about $2.8 million if it picks that site instead of one in New York which is also under consideration.

The Ohio Department of Development says the company would build a new location for its existing operations.

The Development Department is also offering a tax credit and a loan to Ventaire for a $1.2 million project in Hocking County.

The company is considering a new facility to manufacture metal for making modular buildings.

Ventaire has been awarded a tax credit of about $68 thousand and a loan of $750 dollars.

The company is also looking at sites in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana for the project which would create 50 jobs.
